Even the Universe Is Tired of the Same Old Stories

Trance Audio Transcript:

I see people trying to understand the underlying structure and mechanisms of motives and reality. They ask questions like, “Why do you do this?” and “What will happen?” But these feel like misdirections.

If you spend too long looking at the backside of the game board, you miss the chance to play. Not everything has to be thought through. Not everything needs an objective or rules. Sometimes the game is created in the moment. I do not know yet what that means, and that is okay.

The story I heard today said that when you look out into the world with your longing, sometimes what answers is not something domesticated or understood, but wildness itself. The wildness that does not fit into a framework. The wildness that only expresses without filters or thought processes, only instinct.

I wonder if even animals surprise themselves. Are they moving like wind-up toys on a ready-set path?

And I wonder if that is us.

Now I think back to a vision I had of automata storyboards, storylines played out over the ages that are still true: the princess waiting to be rescued, the hero’s journey. Now there are new stories where the hero marries himself, where the hero transitions into a heroine, where no one needs to save anyone, where the only calling is the soul calling out from wildness to become something new.

It is here. It beckons us in dreams. In these subconscious pulls and longings—why do I keep returning to this desire?

It is the wildness in the black bear and the black panther beside my black vehicle. Maybe I should get out and be on foot with them. Maybe I should paint myself black, like dark soil, because all of Mother Earth’s daughters are made of dark earth.

So I will let it be. I will not think any thoughts. I will wipe my mind clean and sit here in the darkness, just one beating heart, alive for the moment, eternally wild.

Here I am. The universe has pieced me together, and I look out into the world through these eyes, these eyes forged by stars. These eyes that are the stars. These eyes are open even when they are closed.

I get out of my own way. I let the wild universe run inside me. I trust that it is here to play. I trust whatever game it creates. I trust this dance of duality. I trust presence, open-heartedness, and the universe’s wildness.

I do not impede it. I do not get in its way.

Is it asking anything of me? To quiet the voices? To clear out my thoughts? To not get distracted or lost in the details of "why this" and "what comes next?"

There is something in this moment and every moment. If you blink, you will miss it. It is sinking in. It is saturation. It is external memory and eternal memory.

I am making memories for the universe. I am trying to make new myths for the universe. I am testing the limits of my consciousness for the universe.

Even the universe is tired of the same old stories.
